Overview

  • Off-field Hydro application
  • Moonsign enabler
  • Elemental Mastery support

Aino does her work from the bench. Her Elemental Burst drops the Cool Your Jets Ducky, which keeps firing water balls at nearby enemies and applies Hydro while someone else fights. That steady Hydro is what she is for: it feeds Electro-Charged, Lunar-Charged, Bloom, Lunar-Bloom and Freeze teams. Just by being in the party she raises the party's Moonsign by one level, and with Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam the duck fires more often and over a wider area.

Her own damage is small, and her Elemental Burst gains damage from half of her Elemental Mastery. Build her for Energy Recharge first, so the duck is out every rotation, then Elemental Mastery. Her Elemental Skill is mainly a way to make particles before you swap out.

Weapons

Best first. Every claymore on this list links to its page.

  1. Favonius Greatsword ★★★★

The most reliable choice. The Energy Recharge stat and the particles from CRIT hits fix her biggest problem, which is having the burst ready. Add a little CRIT Rate on artifacts so the passive triggers.

  2. Flame-Forged Insight ★★★★

Elemental Mastery plus Energy whenever Electro-Charged, Lunar-Charged or Bloom happens, even while she is off the field. In those teams it is about as good as Favonius.

  3. Master Key ★★★★

Craftable, so it is easy to refine. It gives a lot of Energy Recharge, and its Elemental Mastery bonus doubles with Ascendant Gleam, which she helps you reach.

  4. Makhaira Aquamarine ★★★★

Elemental Mastery for her and a share of bonus ATK for the team. Pick it when you already have enough Energy Recharge from artifacts.

  5. Forest Regalia ★★★★

Energy Recharge stat and leaves that hand Elemental Mastery to whoever picks them up. A solid backup in Bloom and Hyperbloom teams.

Artifact sets

  1. Silken Moon's Serenade 4-piece

The best set for her. She triggers it from off the field, it raises the whole party's Elemental Mastery, and it boosts Lunar reactions. The 2-piece Energy Recharge also helps her burst.

  2. Instructor 4-piece

A cheap stand-in that shares Elemental Mastery with the team after she triggers a reaction. Fine while you farm Silken Moon's Serenade.

  3. Noblesse Oblige 4-piece

Use it in teams that care more about ATK than Elemental Mastery, such as Freeze, when nobody else holds the set.

Teams

  • Lunar-Charged

Aino supplies the Hydro, Flins and Ineffa supply the Electro, and Sucrose groups enemies and adds Elemental Mastery. Aino's extra Moonsign level helps the team reach Ascendant Gleam.

  • Budget Lunar-Charged

A cheaper version of the same idea. Fischl adds steady off-field Electro, so reactions keep happening while you play Ineffa or Sucrose.

  • Lunar-Bloom

Nefer and Lauma turn Bloom into Lunar-Bloom, and Aino supplies the Hydro from the bench. Yaoyao adds Dendro and heals, and with two Nod-Krai characters plus Aino the party reaches Ascendant Gleam.

  • Lunar-Crystallize

Zibai turns Hydro Crystallize into Lunar-Crystallize, and the duck supplies the Hydro from the bench. With Zibai and Illuga, the party is well past the two Moonsign levels needed for Ascendant Gleam.

Tips

  • Cast the burst first in every rotation, then swap. The duck keeps working while she is off the field, so do not stay on her.
  • Her Elemental Burst gets stronger with Ascendant Gleam. Pair her with at least one other Nod-Krai character to make the most of it.
  • Her damage barely depends on talent levels. Raise the burst when you have spare materials and leave Normal Attack alone.
  • Constellation 4 restores Energy when her skill hits, which lowers how much Energy Recharge she needs.

Other character guides recommend Aino as a teammate in these teams.

Talents

Normal Attack Bish-Bash-Bosh Repair
Normal Attack Performs up to 3 consecutive strikes. Charged Attack Drains Stamina over time to perform continuous spinning attacks against all nearby opponents. At the end of the sequence, performs a more powerful slash. Plunging Attack Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
Elemental Skill Musecatcher
Aino throws a Musecatcher forward, dealing Hydro DMG and dragging her along behind it. When the dragging stops, Aino deals AoE Hydro DMG to nearby opponents. Holding the Skill will cause it to behave differently. Hold Enter Aiming Mode to adjust the Musecatcher's throwing direction.
Elemental Burst Precision Hydronic Cooler
Aino deploys a custom water-spraying device, the Cool Your Jets Ducky to establish a Focused Hydronic Cooling Zone. While active, the Cool Your Jets Ducky will periodically fire water balls at nearby opponents, dealing Hydro DMG.
Passive talent Modular Efficiency Protocol
Aino will be granted the corresponding buff effects based on the party's Moonsign. Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam: Her Elemental Burst **Precision Hydronic Cooler** is enhanced: The Cool Your Jets Ducky will fire water balls more frequently, and the water balls will deal AoE Hydro DMG over a larger area of effect.
Passive talent Structured Power Booster
Aino's Elemental Burst DMG is increased by 50% of her Elemental Mastery.
Passive talent Moonsign Benediction: Force Limit Analysis
When Aino is in the party, the party's Moonsign will increase by 1 level.
Passive talent Miniaturized Detection Sensor
Displays the location of nearby resources unique to Nod-Krai on the mini-map. Additionally, Aino appears to be able to alter the Cool Your Jets Ducky's appearance in some way...

Constellations

C1 The Theory of Ash—Field Equilibrium
After Aino uses her Elemental Skill **Musecatcher** or her Elemental Burst **Precision Hydronic Cooler**, her Elemental Mastery will be increased by 80. The Elemental Mastery of other nearby active party members will be increased by 80 for 15s. The Elemental Mastery-increasing effects of this Constellation do not stack.
C2 The Principle of Transference in Gear Differentials
If Aino is off-field while the Focused Hydronic Cooling Zone of her Elemental Burst **Precision Hydronic Cooler** is active, when your active party member hits a nearby opponent with an attack, the Cool Your Jets Ducky will fire an additional water ball at that opponent, dealing AoE Hydro DMG equal to 25% of Aino's ATK and 100% of her Elemental Mastery. This DMG is considered Elemental Burst DMG. This effect can be triggered once every 5s.
C3 Cake and the Art of Mechanism Repair
Increases the Level of **Precision Hydronic Cooler** by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
C4 Butter and Cats and the Law of Energy Supply
When the Elemental Skill **Musecatcher** hits an opponent, it will restore 10 Elemental Energy for Aino. Energy can be restored to her in this manner once every 10s.
C5 Perpetual Turbine of Metal and Light
Increases the Level of **Musecatcher** by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
C6 The Burden of Creative Genius
For the next 15s after using the Elemental Burst **Precision Hydronic Cooler**, DMG from nearby active characters' Electro-Charged, Bloom, Lunar-Charged, Lunar-Bloom, and Lunar-Crystallize reactions is increased by 15%. Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam: DMG from the aforementioned reactions will be further increased by 20%.
