Overview
- On-field Hydro damage dealer
- Charged Attack carry
Neuvillette deals almost all of his damage with one move: the Charged Attack Equitable Judgment, a long Hydro beam he can sweep across groups of enemies. Picking up Sourcewater Droplets, which his skill and burst create, makes the beam charge faster and heals him. While his HP is above half, the beam slowly drains it, and his passive gives extra Hydro damage the higher his HP sits.
When teammates trigger reactions such as Vaporize, Electro-Charged, Bloom, Frozen, Hydro Swirl or Hydro Crystallize, he gains stacks that make the beam hit much harder, one stack per reaction type. His damage scales with Max HP, so build HP, Hydro damage and crits. He needs very little Energy Recharge.
Weapons
Best first. Every catalyst on this list links to its page.
-
Tome of the Eternal Flow ★★★★★
His signature catalyst. CRIT DMG, HP, and a Charged Attack bonus that stacks as his HP goes up and down, which happens all the time while he fires the beam.
-
Jadefall's Splendor ★★★★★
A good 5-star alternative thanks to its HP stat, though it adds less damage than his signature.
-
Sacrificial Jade ★★★★
The best 4-star for him. The CRIT Rate stat matters most; the passive only works off the field, so ignore it.
-
Ballad of the Boundless Blue ★★★★
A catalyst from a past event that raises Charged Attack damage once his attacks keep hitting.
-
Prototype Amber ★★★★
Craftable at the Blacksmith and gives HP. A simple option for newer players.
Artifact sets
-
Marechaussee Hunter 4-piece
The best set by a wide margin. Its two-piece boosts Charged Attacks, and the four-piece CRIT Rate stacks as his HP changes, which his beam does on its own.
-
Heart of Depth + Tenacity of the Millelith 2-piece each
Hydro damage plus HP. Fine while you farm Marechaussee pieces.
-
Nymph's Dream + Vourukasha's Glow 2-piece each
Works like the pairing above. Mix whichever Hydro and HP two-pieces have the best substats.

Furina
Kaedehara Kazuha
Zhongli
His beam spends his HP, which builds Furina's party buff. Kazuha swirls Hydro for a reaction stack and adds damage, and Zhongli's shield lets him fire without interruption.

Neuvillette
Fischl
Kaedehara Kazuha
Baizhu
Fischl's off-field Electro sets up Electro-Charged and Kazuha's Hydro swirl adds another stack. Baizhu heals and shields.
-
Budget reaction stacks
All 4-stars. Fischl gives an Electro-Charged stack, Sucrose a Hydro swirl stack and Kirara a Bloom stack, while her shield keeps him safe.
Tips
- Use his skill and burst before charging, then walk through the Sourcewater Droplets while holding the Charged Attack. The beam forms much faster that way.
- Turn the camera while the beam is active to sweep it across several enemies.
- Mix teammates who cause different reactions. Each reaction type gives its own stack, so three different reactions give the full bonus.
- His HP drains during the beam only while it is above half. A healer in the team keeps his HP high, which also keeps his Hydro damage bonus up.
