Overview
- On-field Pyro DPS
Diluc is a straightforward on-field damage dealer. His Elemental Skill is a three-part slash that you chain together, his Normal Attacks are heavy claymore swings, and his Elemental Burst launches a Phoenix and then infuses his blade with Pyro. That turns every swing into Pyro damage and adds a Pyro DMG Bonus while it lasts.
Gear him like most ATK-scaling carries: ATK on the sands, a Pyro DMG Bonus goblet and crits on the circlet. He shines in Vaporize teams, where a Hydro teammate keeps enemies wet so his Pyro hits get the bonus multiplier.
Weapons
Best first. Every claymore on this list links to its page.
-
Wolf's Gravestone ★★★★★
A big ATK boost for him, and hitting an enemy below 30% HP raises the whole party's ATK for a short time.
-
A Thousand Blazing Suns ★★★★★
High base ATK plus ATK and CRIT DMG after each skill or burst. He uses his skill often, so the buff is easy to keep.
-
Beacon of the Reed Sea ★★★★★
CRIT Rate and an ATK bonus after his skill hits. The HP part does nothing for him, but the rest still fits.
-
Serpent Spine ★★★★
A Battle Pass 4-star with CRIT Rate and a damage bonus that builds while he stays on the field, which is how he plays.
-
Rainslasher ★★★★
Elemental Mastery boosts his Vaporize damage, and the passive works against wet enemies. A solid easy-to-get choice for Vaporize teams.
-
Prototype Archaic ★★★★
Craftable at the Blacksmith. Gives ATK and an occasional extra hit on Normal Attacks; fine while you look for something better.
Artifact sets
-
Crimson Witch of Flames 4-piece
The standard set. Pyro DMG Bonus, more Vaporize and Melt damage, and the 4-piece raises the 2-piece Pyro bonus further each time he uses his skill, which he does constantly.
-
Crimson Witch of Flames + Gladiator's Finale 2-piece each
Pyro damage plus ATK. A good stopgap while you farm a full Crimson Witch set.
-
Gladiator's Finale 4-piece
Boosts Normal Attacks, which make up most of his damage during his burst. Useful outside of reaction teams.

Teams
-
Vaporize with Furina
Furina applies Hydro and raises party damage. Bennett heals and adds ATK, and Kazuha groups enemies and buffs Pyro damage.
-
Budget Vaporize
Xingqiu's rain swords add Hydro as Diluc swings, and Sucrose groups enemies and adds Elemental Mastery.
-
Double Hydro Vaporize
Two off-field Hydro supports keep every target wet, and Zhongli's shield keeps Diluc swinging without interruption.
Tips
- Use all three skill slashes in a row before the window closes. Waiting too long sends the skill on cooldown early.
- His burst infuses his blade with Pyro. Swing during that window to make the most of the Pyro DMG Bonus from his passive.
- Weave skill slashes between Normal Attacks rather than spamming one or the other.
- Watch his Energy. His burst is a big part of his damage, so add Energy Recharge substats if it often is not ready.
